Meet our Team
Amy Sisson, Director of Counseling
Amy Sisson is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Advanced Trauma Practitioner. She is also the Director of Counseling at Wing Haven. In addition to providing counseling services, she enjoys training law enforcement officers, teachers, and other professionals so that they may become more trauma informed.
"There is still an issue of stigma when it comes to someone getting treatment for mental health problems; many view those receiving counseling as weak or inherently flawed. I see it so differently. I have known people in counseling who are some of the most courageous and strong individuals I've ever met. They are often emotionally broken into a million pieces, they care their souls to a complete stranger, and then begin to rebuild, one step at a time. It takes strength, endurance, and an intense commitment. It is an honor to walk alongside my amazing clients and watch them heal." - Amy
Jamie Payne, Counseling Center Manager
Jamie designs and presents workshops that help individuals and families live more effectively. Most popular recently has been her workshop on personality, relationships, and careers. Many people have improved relationships and have selected careers that are best for them as a result of working with Jamie. In addition, Jamie, as the counseling center manager, performs all the administration and scheduling.
Jamie has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in marketing. She has performed a wide array of functions as an employee of the Gallia Department of Job and Family Services. "As a clinician at Wing Haven, I work to understand and encourage the whole person. I strive to help clients recognize that they are not just individuals needing help, but people who are influenced by a series of biological occurrences, family history, and the community in which they live. It brings me joy to work with clients to help them gain insight and help them heal, while encouraging relational and emotional growth." - Nikki
