Counseling

Our mission is to provide high quality professional counseling services consistent with Biblical principles for families, children and individual adults.  Some of these Biblical principles include: integrity, honesty, restoration, renewal, growth, belief that humans can change, hope is possible, and a high view of the dignity of the person as created in the image of God.  Wing Haven’s Counseling Center views counseling as a way to promote healing and renewal, discover new insights, and improve thinking and behavior. Our goal is to support you and to challenge you to reach your potential. Wing Haven is a safe place for "dangerous" or highly emotional topics to be explored without fear of judgment.

We believe that thinking patterns that are not leading to helpful habits and decisions can be changed.  This is a belief that offers great hope!  By replacing old patterns of thinking with helpful ways of thinking, an individual is truly empowered to lead a more full life.  Settling for “the way things have always been” and “that’s how I’ve always thought” is a mindset that may lead to an unfulfilling life.  But life is about growth, including growing in new ways of approaching life with all of its complex and very hurtful problems.  Counseling at Wing Haven provides a context and support to make growth a real possibility!

Another excellent resource for empowering growth offered through our counseling center is a program called “The Effective Family.”  All families are encouraged to participate, including families referred by Child Protective Services and other agencies.  Please click on the Personal Development tab for more information.

Wing Haven provides services to persons of any faith, race, creed or religion.  We welcome diverse backgrounds.  Clients may, of course, request that no Christian content be presented and this choice will be deeply respected and complied with.  All clients will receive high quality professional help regardless of this decision. 

We meet the highest standards of the counseling profession and licensing requirements.  Counseling is provided at the Wing Haven campus.
